Jesus is the Word of God
There are many pitfalls in deciding which version of the bible to use and any decision will appear arbitary to those who would have made a different choice. I regard Nestle's Greek New Testament as revised in London in 1958 as the most accurate available. From this we have the New International Version (NIV). Unless otherwise stated I have used this. Other version which have been consulted include the New Revised Standard Version (Anglicised Edition) (NRSV) and the King James Version (KJV). This latter deserves special mention. It is the product of the best Bible scholars of the 16th century and is highly regarded for its accuracy and beauty.
Mention should also be made of the TANAKH which is based on the Masorite - the traditional Hebrew - text and denoted by JPS (The Jewish Publication Society)
